On being offended

In response to a "why are people offended by Kap kneeling for the national anthem":

Good points, and I'm pretty sure the answer to your question is...it didn't actually cut deeply. Pretending to be incredibly offended is like our national pastime. We feign offense because for some reason people think that being offended gives them the moral high ground.

News flash: it doesn't. It either makes you look weak or stupid. Weak because you can't counter someone else's views with logic and reason, or stupid because you're taking offense at something that wasn't meant to be offensive.
